Project management is a profession that can be pursueded by degree and non-degree holders alike. To succeed in project management, you must possess the among other qualities the following:
  • Good communication skills (active listening, verbal and written communication).
  • Planning and organisation skill (goal setting, timeline development and execution)
  • Management skills (ability to effectively deploy limited human and material resources for the successful completion of a project)
  • Leadership (supervision, delegation, motivation etc. of project team members).
  • Ability to relate effectively with others to obtain a desired result (Teamwork and emotional intelligence).

As a project manager, you can work in an organization which has a top management team and carry on several projects such as:
  • Non-governmental Organizations.
  • Healthcare organizations
  • Schools
  • Telecommunications companies
  • Private businesses etc. 
You can also work as a freelancer in events and planning sector to help individual or organizational  clients achieve their projects.

As a Project Manager, you can earn anything between N250,000 to N1, 500,000 per month depending on where in the world you get the job or the based on the quality and / or quantity of clients you work with if you are a freelancer.
